Burr crushing and deburring technology
Tokiwa Koutai has been focusing on the technique of slitting that would lessen the degree of burr for many years. For an industrial product, the result can be counted as the best possible outcome. This technology can answer needs such as:
- Wish to produce a product by using the material until its edge
- Wish to Lessen the chance that the gap would appear during masking process
- Prevent the aluminum powder or dirt that may come out from burr while processing
- Protect the insulating paper from ripping
It is helpful for busbar-related materials, battery tab-related materials, and many other things.
Technology that responds to customer's needs as much as possible
On the left is the photo of soft material for busbar with 1.5mm thickness. The burr that caused by slitting can be seen. Photos on the right side are the same material after processed. The top ones are the result after burr pressing while the bottom ones are the result after deburring. There might be some part that cannot be fulfilled since the quality standard in this field of material is very high. However, we are doing our best to reach the best possible outcome.

Burr Arranging Technique
A technique for presswork material
- Avoid the change in direction of the leveler
- Reduce the times of leveler adjustment
It is a technique that can improve customer's production efficiency and quality.
Adjust the cut surface
Technology that responds to several needs on cut surface
- Want to eliminate the chance that rupture may occur during bending process
- Lessen the problem that may arise from fracture surface contacting with the side guide
- Some production need enough fracture surface to enter the side guide
We can respond to requests such as leaving the fracture surface on or eliminating it. It is possible to aim at 100% rate of slitting shear surface. There are a lot of products involved in this field like winding fin material and etc.
Insert the interleaving paper
Technology of inserting the interleaving paper between aluminum sheets
- Prevent scratch that may happen from coil springback
- Prevent scratch that may happen at the end of winding
- Prevent the paint from peeling off
- Prevent the scratch that may happen during the delivery
This is a process which insert an interleaving paper between aluminum sheets and wind them up together. We can also pull out the interleaving paper from the mother coil. This technology is widely used in field of glittering materials like caps or color materials for building, embrossed materials, and thick sheets for automobile parts.
Masking Technology
Make masking process a common process in the world of coil processing
In plate processing, film masking is the most common way to prevent the scratch. On the other hand, it is not so common in the coil processing industry. We recommend you to use it as a sell point for your presswork customer, who wishes to prevent the scratch during the press processing (however, it will take time to take the film off after processing). It can also decrease the risk of scratches that may happen during slitting, plus there is an effect to prevent corrosion.
Oil Work
Apply the oil while winding up the coil
This process can reduce the amount of oil needed during presswork and make the production line run more smoothly. The oil will be applied before recoiling. It can also prevent dew condensation during storage. Applying oil without going through a slitting process is also possible.
Spool-less wind up technology
Reduce the cost by winding up product without spool
It takes a lot of budget to modify or create a new spool everytime there is a new product size. Moreover, the customer has to order spools for each time, and there is also a case where the steel spools or PVC spools needed to be returned to the customer. Spool-less wind up process can reduce those costs.
Surface Care
Mark up the outer surface of the coil strip to leave signs
• Want to flip over the front or back surface of the product
• Want to check the front and back surface of the clad material
• Want to easily differenciate the surface just by one look
We can answer the customers with those requests.
We leave marks at the coil strips like color aluminum, clad material, surface side which needs an extreme care, or for material that later will be checked by burner to find the blazing side. We can mark the entire length of the coil by a type of dye that can be washed off in the next process.
