Tokiwa Koutai Co., Ltd. is a dedicated aluminum slitter with a history dating back to 1954

Our company started to operate from 1954, and has been slitting several types of metals ever since. We have been working with the motto that we have to be better at slitting everyday. Even though we specialize in aluminum slitting, we have the experiences on dealing with other metals such as steel, copper, brass, silicon, and stainless steel. We started to focus on alumium at the same time when the light metal market started to grow. Presently, our company acts as a coil center that deals with aluminum, aluminum alloy, and foil. Moreover, we have the production capacity up to 2,500 tons per month.

Minoru Tanikawa, who is the founder of this company, use his lifelong experience to develop and teach the employees about the slitting techniques and skills. It can be said that our company is both a factory and a learning center. It is like a place where a developer put his invention in real use. As years passed, our skills were accepted by the light metal industry and other several coil centers.

In 1983, Ibaraki factory started its operation along side with the head office factory. By countless developments, our slitters can deal with the mother coil that is extremely big and has thinner thickness, while, at the same time can maintain a high production quality. Meanwhile, the production system changed from analog to digital and it allows us to respond to urgent slit request. Furthermore, we also teach and give knowledge about quality control to our employees.

As a medium-sized company, maintaining an internal capital adequacy is the important task for a good management. However, in 1989 we improved our company's financial performance by joining Tokyo Medium Business Investment Development Co., Ltd. (established under Japanese law) to increase our capital.

Our company acquired ISO9001 in August 1999, ISO14001 in March 2001, and OHSAS18001 in December 2003. Those three standards are said to be the "three sacred treasures" of the international standard. By acquiring those standards, it is a prove that Tokiwa Koutai's skills that has been nurtured for more than half a century had created a stable and effective management system. Tokiwa Koutai is also an organization that holds responsible towards the society.

In April 2000, a new warehouse was built near Ibaraki factory. As a result, we become a more efficient coil center that can fulfill the customer's needs by keeping the product and managing the coils circulation.

Since aluminum's characteristics are lightness and can be easily processed, it is expected that they will be in high demand in the automobile industry, which is flourishing in the new century. The reduction of the use of energy can prevent the global warming from getting worse, and the lighter the weight of cars is, the lesser the use of energy will be. With that fact, undoubtedly, soon enough aluminum's characteristics will fully show its potential.

We do not only focus on the thick wheel-related material, but we also develop and modify our slitter lines untill they can handle automobile's body-related parts, and the heat exchanger-related parts that are extremely thin, narrow, and have long coil's length. For both aluminum sheets and coils, we expand our ability to slit the material with extreme thinness and at the same time have slitters that can handle material with extreme thickness.
